Finn made an immediate impact in lime green, producing a breakout performance against the Sydney Sixers. She smashed an unbeaten 49 with the bat before dismissing Achleigh Gardner for her maiden WBBL wicket. 

A WNCL debut for the NSW Breakers and further clutch performances followed, most notably in a crucial fixture against Tasmania.   

With the Breakers staring down their first loss of the season at 5-76, Finn stepped up with a fearless knock of 64 in a 128-run partnership with WNCL champion Sarah Coyte to clinch the win and keep the Breakers unbeaten run alive.  

The rising star becomes the second Thunder re-signing for this season following English legend Heather Knight re-signing with the club last week.  

Lucy Finn said:  

“Super excited to be back for another two season.” 

“Last year was a crazy experience. Sometimes I look back at it and don’t even believe that it happened because it was just so cool being out there with all my heroes.  

"To have my family there at my first game as well was very special. I wasn't even nervous, I just wanted to do my best when I got my chance. 

"It’s been really cool working with Lisa over the past couple of years with the Australian Under 19s program and now in the Thunder. She's such a cool-headed character and she always knows the right thing to say at the right time. "

“Lucy is another talented young player we have on our list and someone we’re really excited to have back this season. 

“We saw last year what she can do with both bat and ball. The way she stepped up to the challenge, dismissing players of the calibre of Ash Gardner and then making an impact with the bat, was fantastic to watch. 

“She fits really well into the culture of our group. She works hard, wants to keep learning, and is a great teammate. 

“Lucy is on an exciting development path, and we believe she has some special performances ahead of her.”
