Sydney Thunder are set to take on crosstown rivals, the Sydney Sixers at Blacktown International Sports Park this Sunday, February 8, with the winner taking home the First Nations T20 Cup.
Thunder and Sixers to contest the First Nations T20 Cup
Proudly supported by Homestar Finance, both men’s and women’s squads will go head-to-head in 20-over matches, celebrating cricket, culture, and community while showcasing the talent of NSW’s top First Nations cricketers.
Thunder women will be looking to defend their title, while the men return determined to flip the script following a narrow defeat last year.
Both squads will proudly wear the same First Nations playing shirts worn by Thunder's WBBL and BBL teams.
Unveiled in November 2025, the shirt was designed by Rheanna Lotter, a Western Sydney-based Yuin artist, in collaboration with WBBL players Hannah Darlington (Kamilaroi) and Anika Learoyd (Gumbaynggir).
Titled Jaanymili – a Gumbaynggir word meaning gathering, coming together and connecting – the shirt tells the story of Darlington and Learoyd’s journeys, from family, to meeting each other and growing together through cricket.
