David Willey set for Sydney Thunder debut

Willey comes in as an International Replacement Player for Shadab Khan who is competing in the Pakistan v Sri Lanka T20I series before returning for the Sydney Smash on January 16. 

Despite Saturday’s loss forcing tomorrow’s match to be a must win, Chris Green said there were positives — none bigger than David Warner’s unbeaten 130.

“That one really hurt, particularly after Davey’s knock, which was incredible,” said Green. 

“You have to take confidence and learnings from every game. I guess the positives with losing is that it forces you to have to do better in order to improve. With four to go we need to be better, we need to be quicker, senior players need to stand up and everyone needs to lift and put in their best performance.”

“David Willey is an awesome allrounder, with the ball, bat and in the field. Very much the same to Shadab except he bowls left arm pace instead of right arm spin, so looking forward to running out with him.”
