Thunder team up with Century Cricket to launch T20 Youth Academy
Sydney Thunder are proud to launch the Sydney Thunder T20 Youth Academy – a new initiative designed to give aspiring young cricketers aged 10-16 the chance to train and play like their Thunder heroes.
The Academy, which will be delivered in partnership with Century Cricket, was created to meet the growing demand for specialised T20 coaching and provide opportunities for the next generation of cricketers across Western Sydney.
Expanding on Thunder’s popular community holiday programs, the Academy consists of three distinct streams:
- T20 Youth Camps – Multi-day holiday clinics that immerse players in Thunder’s coaching and build core T20 skills.
- T20 Development Academy – A term-based program focused on further developing technical and tactical T20 skills. Entry is via application only.
- T20 Matchplay – Academy participants will have the opportunity to play against the Sydney Sixers T20 Youth Academy at the end of the year.
Academy programs will be delivered at two world-class venues in Western Sydney – Cricket Central in Sydney Olympic Park, the home of Sydney Thunder, and the new Raby Oval Complex in Campbelltown. Additionally, Academy participants will be decked out in an exclusive New Balance Thunder Academy kit, including a training shirt, shorts and cap.
The Academy is designed to support and complement existing club, representative and association structures, while providing specific opportunities for aspirational players to gain access to top T20 coaching and development.
