Sydney Thunder will host four matches at Drummoyne Oval during Weber WBBL|11, giving members and fans the chance to turn the venue into a lime green fortress, as confirmed by the League today.
Blockbuster Smash headlines Thunder WBBL|11 draw
Thunder’s epic WBBL|11 home schedule includes two double-header action-packed days, an extra weekend fixture, and a marquee Saturday night Sydney Smash under lights.
Master coach Lisa Keightley’s squad kick off the season in Brisbane with a ‘neutral-venue home fixture’ against the Hobart Hurricanes (Sunday, November 9). Just two days later, they’ll travel to Junction Oval to face the reigning champions, the Melbourne Renegades (Tuesday, November 11).
Thunder then return to Sydney to host crosstown rivals Sydney Sixers in a Saturday night Sydney Smash (double header – November 15, 7:10pm) – the club’s marquee home fixture of the regular season.
A midweek battle in Sydney against the Perth Scorchers (Wednesday, November 19) and a trip back to Brisbane to face the Heat (Friday, November 21) precede a Sunday morning rematch at home against the Renegades (November 23, 10:00am).
The team then hit the road to face the Strikers at Adelaide Oval (Adelaide Oval, November 28) and the Sixers at North Sydney Oval (November 30), before wrapping up the regular season with a home clash against the Heat (double header – December 3) and an away game against the Melbourne Stars at Junction Oval (December 6).

Sydney Thunder General Manager Trent Copeland said the WBBL|11 fixture was a major win for members and fans, with four games locked in at the club’s home venue.
“To have four matches at Drummoyne Oval – including two days of elite double-header action – gives our members and fans plenty of chances to watch the world’s best women’s competition live,” Copeland said.
“We’re also thrilled to be hosting two weekend fixtures, including a Saturday night Sydney Smash. To have our most anticipated match in a prime timeslot, under lights at Drummoyne makes it even more special.
“With Australian superstars like Phoebe Litchfield and Georgia Voll - plus some of the best players from around the world in Heather [Knight], Chamari [Athapaththu] and Shabs [Ismail] – not to mention our incredible domestic core and the damaging Laura Harris in lime green for the first time… we’re shaping up as one of the most exciting T20 squads going around.
“The message remains the same as last season… fill the hill, make some noise and wear your brightest green when we’re at Drummoyne. We really want to create a home ground advantage our players can feed off.
“The Challenger Final [WBBL|10] was a good result, but we want to win the competition this season. We’re so ready for it.”
