Tahlia Wilson has been named T20 Spring Challenge Player of the Tournament following two match-winning efforts.
Wilson awarded T20 Spring Challenge Player of the Tournament
Named Thunder captain for the inaugural short-format competition, Wilson earned six votes in four matches, including taking the maximum three votes twice in consecutive days. Umpires award votes on a 3-2-1 system after each match.
Wilson struck 81 runs (57 balls) to set up the Thunder’s win over Perth Scorchers on October 16, before a steady 54 runs (50 balls) led her side to victory against rivals Sydney Sixers the following day.
Wilson ended the breakout tournament with 163 runs at an average of 54.33 from her four innings and will be expected to add to her 63 Weber WBBL appearances when the Thunder’s campaign begins on Monday in Hobart.
