The 19-year old who has been part of the Thunder Development XI and Cricket NSW Transition Squad has joined Thunder as a Local Replacement Player for Pat Cummins who is currently unavailable due to his commitments with the Australian national side.
Gilkes grew up on the South Coast before playing three seasons of grade cricket in Canberra from the age of 16. Currently in his second year of NSW Premier Cricket he is UNSW’s leading run-scorer with 451-runs at 64.43.
