Sydney Thunder signed talented teenager Anika Learoyd to a two-year deal ahead of WBBL|06.
A prolific run-scorer, the right-hander hit 541 runs at an average of 54.1 in the 2019/20 NSW Women’s Premier Cricket competition across the One-Day and T20 formats.
Learoyd was also central to the success of the ACT/NSW Country team at the Under 18 National Championships. She finished as the leading run-scorer with 384 runs at 42.7.
Learoyd, who is a proud Gumbaynggir woman, is also an integral part of the NSW Women’s Indigenous team and has represented the Homestar Finance Thunder Indigenous XI.
