Indian all-rounder Harmanpreet Kaur has been included in the Sydney Thunder’s 14-player squad ahead of two big matches this weekend in the Rebel Women’s Big Bash League.
Kaur missed the side’s opening weekend victory over the Melbourne Renegades but has arrived in Sydney ready to go against the Sydney Sixers and Brisbane Heat this weekend at North Sydney Oval.
Rene Farrell, who was the player of the match on Sunday with figures of 3/17, said she has no concerns about Kaur settling back in to the squad.
“Great players are able to adjust and I think she is one of the great players in world cricket at the moment,” said Rene Farrell.
“She’s a fantastic bat. I’ve had the opportunity to bat with her a couple of times and she really plans out her overs.
“She brings a lot of experience and a lot of knowledge of other players.”
Aside from Kaur’s inclusion, the squad remains unchanged from the side who defeated the Melbourne Renegades by six-wickets last Sunday at CitiPower Centre.
“Everyone put their hand up (against the Renegades) that did something on the day,”
“I thought the bowlers were exceptional and our batters got the job done on a tricky total on a tricky surface.
“I wouldn’t like to be captain and coach at the moment.”
