Thunder To Appeal WBBL Point Deduction

Slow Over rate punished by Cricket Australia

Sydney Thunder have lodged an appeal after being docked 1 competition match point as a result of a slow over rate in their Rebel WBBL match against the Brisbane Heat at Blacktown International SportsPark on Monday 2 January.

Thunder were found to be nine minutes behind the scheduled time to complete their 20 overs, after allowances, which equated to being 2 overs short.

In accordance with the WBBL Playing Conditions, Thunder received a penalty of 1 competition match points and captain Alex Blackwell received one strike.

The appeal against the penalty, which will be heard and determined by Code of Conduct Commissioner David Harper.
