His first memory of Australia, 'that tag' and his love for clothes

He’s Thunder’s longest serving player, a qualified pilot who was the first (and self-proclaimed best dressed) Muslim to play for Australia.

I was three and a half when I first moved to Australia, one of my best childhood memories is going down to the SCG because sometimes they would open the gates towards the end of the game and we couldn’t afford any tickets, so I used to sit around there all day waiting and hoping for them to open the gates.

The biggest influence in my life is my dad.

Being the first Muslim to play for Australia and having that “tag” was annoying when I was a bit younger but obviously now growing up and knowing that it is actually a big part of me and my life.

For the subcontinent to have someone to look up to and someone to represent not only their religion but also multiculturalism in itself, especially in Sydney it is actually quite humbling.

Playing guitar was really good for me especially after I finished Uni, it helps, me to take my mind of things and delve into my own little world.

I don’t collect CDs or vinyls, I’m not that much of a looser.

I do love a bit of style but I love the idea of people being able to wear what they want and express themselves through what they wear.

The most expensive piece of clothing that I have brought are definitely a pair of shoes I bought over in England.

I’ve been told I’m crazy for buying them but oh well you only live once.

My first time ever flying I was very excited and equally frightened I mean the feeling is amazing.

I take pride in is making my omelettes, I’m a big breakfast man and I have at least 4 or 5 omelettes a week. I love my omelettes.
