Winner of Thunder Literacy Program competition announced

Sydney Thunder is proud to make a real and meaningful contribution to the community through the Thunder Literacy Program.

Delivered to primary school students across the Thunder Nation, the program exists to promote the importance of education and create a life-long love of reading.

To further encourage children across the Thunder Nation to read, the club held a competition to win a $200 book voucher.

Congratulations to Cian from Our Lady Queen of Peace in Gladesville who was named winner of the competition.

What is Cian’s favourite book?

Ninja Kid by Ahn Do. It is my favourite book because it is about a Ninja and it has lots of cool stuff in each book. I like when grandma invents stuff and when Nelson was young, his dad got lost at sea. Nelson then changed from a nerd to a ninja which is really cool.

What does he love most about reading?

I love the interesting stories and all the funny things that happen in the stories. I like finding out about all the different characters and the funny things they do.

Does Cian have any other favourite books?

I also love reading the Treehouse series with the characters Jill, Andy and Terry. Andy and Terry live in the treehouse and Jill is their neighbour.

Is he a Sydney Thunder fan?

I sure am! Green is my favourite colour, so Thunder is the perfect club for me.

Who does he play Cricket for?

I participated in the Woolworths Cricket Blast program with the Ryde-Hunters Hill Pirates.
