Sydney Thunder duo Usman Khawaja and Kurtis Patterson have been named in Australia A’s touring party that will travel to India in August.
Khawaja has been named in both the four day and one day squads while Patterson is part of the four day squad that will play India A in two fixtures in September.
The one day squad will play a one-day tri-series against India A and South Africa A in Vijayawada – with two matches against each opponent, plus a final – followed by two four-day matches against India A in Vizag.
“We’re really pleased with the squads we have assembled for this tour,” said National Selector Trevor Hohns.
“We’ve got a couple of really experienced international cricketers, a large group who have had a taste of playing for Australia already, and some emerging players who have performed strongly and we believe have the potential to one day play for their country.
“It’s an extremely important tour, as we look for players who can adapt and find ways to excel in sub-continent conditions.”
The tour will be another chance to impress ahead of Australia’s two-Test tour against Pakistan in the UAE which will take place in October.
