Three Players Added To Squad

Sydney Thunder has made three changes to its squad to face the Perth Scorchers at Spotless Stadium on Thursday 11 January (7.40pm start).

England Test batter James Vince is named in the squad as an International Replacement Player for Jos Buttler who has joined England’s ODI squad, while Usman Khawaja is also available following the conclusion of the Ashes Test series.

“I’m looking forward to being able to free up a bit and hopefully enjoy some T20 and contribute to a few wins,” said James Vince.

“I’ve been watching in the evening and having been involved last year I was very keen to come back. We need to try and win four from four but with a few players coming into the side it will hopefully give us a bit of a boost.

“I think there is an element of luck but you have to play good cricket to win. I think the way T20 goes, you can get on a run and win four in four and go on and win a few more.

“If I’m up at the top of the order trying to get the guys a good start, winning powerplays goes a long way to winning games.”

Jay Lenton is also named in the 13-player squad while Ryan Gibson and Aiden Blizzard miss out.
