Cricket Australia have made several of their Test players available for the upcoming KFC Big Bash League games with Kurtis Patterson, Pat Cummins and Usman Khawaja all available for selection in Sydney Thunder’s squad to face the Hobart Hurricanes.
“The Thunder Nation is very proud of our players representing Australia,” said Sydney Thunder General Manager Lee Germon.
“If results go our way then having three internationals available for selection would be a massive boost for our game at Manuka Oval.
“We’ve seen some exciting young players get their chance in the Thunder side this year and to have Pat, Usman and Kurtis return to the squad will give the coaching staff plenty of options for Saturday’s game.”
Every player who featured in Australia’s Test series win against Sri Lanka has been made available apart from Jhye Richardson who has been rested and Mitchell Starc who does not have a contract with a BBL club.
Sydney Thunder will confirm their 13-player squad to face the Hobart Hurricanes by 2pm on Friday.
Saturday’s game at Manuka Oval is currently sold out, with a limited number of tickets being released later in the week when sightscreen and camera positions are confirmed.
