Sydney Thunder has secured a thrilling seven-wicket win over the Perth Scorchers at Sydney Showground Stadium to keep the club's finals dreams alive.
Winning the bat flip and electing to bat first, the Scorchers made a fast start through in-form opening duo Liam Livingstone and Josh Inglis before Chris Morris struck in the fifth over.
The Scorchers were unable to regain momentum, with Thunder restricting the Perth side to just 99 after 15 overs before rain fell and delayed play.
Daniel Sams extended his lead as the wearer of the BKT Golden Arm cap by taking a further one wicket to take his season's tally to 25. He now holds the record for the most wickets taken in a season.
With Thunder's season on the line, Alex Hales smashed 47 runs from 27 deliveries before Chris Morris finished the job with two balls to spare.
Thunder made one change with right-arm quick Chris Tremain coming into the side for leg-spinner Liam Bowe, while the Scorchers welcomed South African star Morne Morkel.
