Doggett dominates in return to XI

Sydney Thunder has fallen to the Perth Scorchers at Optus Stadium despite a brilliant innings by England star Sam Billings.

Billings scored a fighting 83 from just 48 deliveries to keep Thunder right in the game after the side fell to 4-46 after less than six overs.

Powerful all-rounder Ben Cutting continued his run of form, partnering with Billings for a 83 runs before being caught out during the Power Surge.

Playing his first game of the season, Brendan Doggett made an immediate impact in the first innings.

The fast bowler claimed two wickets in his first over of the night, including the big wicket of Liam Livingstone with his first delivery.

He dominated the Scorchers dangerous top order, finishing his four over spell with fantastic figures of 4-22, including the scalps of Jason Roy, Josh Inglis and Mitch Marsh.
