Sydney Thunder has secured a place in the WBBL|06 semi-finals with a six-wicket win over the Hobart Hurricanes at Drummoyne Oval.
Shabnim Ismail set up the win with a fiery spell in the first innings. The South African fast bowler claimed the key wickets of Nicola Carey, Hayley Matthews and Chloe Tryon to put the Hurricanes on the back foot at 3-4 in the third over.
Young gun Hannah Darlington claimed 3-24 from her four overs to take her season tally to 15, while Phoebe Litchfield's two catches took her to 12 for the tournament which is the most by any player in WBBL|06.
England skipper Heather Knight was the best with the bat, scoring a quick-fire 25 from 15 deliveries.
Knight's England teammate Tammy Beaumont scored a handy 22 runs at the top of the order.
Teenage star Phoebe Litchfield (24 not out) and Sammy-Jo Johnson (16 not out) finished the chase, steering Thunder to victory with 3.1 overs remaining.
Thunder will meet either the Brisbane Heat or Melbourne Stars on Wednesday or Thursday at North Sydney Oval.
