A dominant nine-wicket win over the Strikers at Adelaide Oval on Monday night has secured Thunder a place in the BBL|10 Finals.
English opener Alex Hales, 63 not out from 39 balls, and captain Callum Ferguson (46 not out off 33) shared a 116-run partnership to steer Thunder home after the loss of Usman Khawaja first ball. Thunder made 1-116 from 12.1 overs in reply to 4-115.
Rain delayed the start of the must-win match, in Adelaide, reducing the match to 14 overs per side.
Hales set a new record for most sixes in one BBL season with his four sixes taking him to 30. He remained at the top of the BBL|10 run-scorers' list with 535 runs at an average of 41.15.
The men in lime green are currently third on the BBL|10 ladder with three regular season matches remaining on Tuesday.
Thunder picked up the important Bash Boost point inside five overs.
Earlier, pace bowler Nathan McAndrew took the crucial wicket of Alex Carey for 2 who had scored 410 runs for the tournament leading into the match. McAndrew finished with 1-8 from his two overs.
Spinners Tanveer Sangha (1-20) and Chris Green (1-19) bowled well in the middle overs.
The yorker was used again to great effect by fast bowler Brendan Doggett (1-19) taking the important wicket of Jon Wells (21 from 18).
Jake Weatherald top-scored for Adelaide with 80 not out from 47 balls.

Hales continued his outstanding form passing 50 for the fourth time in BBL|10. In each of his two seasons for the Thunder, he has passed 500 runs.
Thunder now await the results of Tuesday's triple header to decide who and when they will play next in the BBL|10 Finals. But one thing is assured, we're FINALS bound!!!
