Head to head:

Renegades six wins, Thunder one win.

Last time they met:

Renegades (6-189) beat Thunder (180) by nine runs in a high scoring match at Manuka Oval in Canberra.

Opener Marcus Harris gave the Renegades the perfect start on a pitch that was thought to have favoured the bowlers, blasting 64 from 41 deliveries before Chris Green finally got the breakthrough. No other batsmen made a significant score, however all but one scored at better than a run a ball, allowing the visitors to finish on an ominous total of 6/189, helped by 25 runs from the final over.

Chasing 190 to win, Thunder had shakey start, losing both openers early to drop to 2-13. Shane Watson (22) and Jay Lenton (23) made handy contributions but it took a partnership between Arjun Nair (45 from 25) and Ben Rohrer (48 from 21) to pull Thunder back into the game. A late cameo from Chris Green almost sealed victory however the home side ultimately fell short of the target.

The season so far:

Thunder made a great start to BBL|08, winning the first two games however dropped four of their next five games. The side bounced back with a convincing 71 run victory over the reigning champions the Adelaide Strikers and appeared to on track for a convincing win over the Brisbane Heat before floodlight failure forced the Heat's innings to be stopped after just three overs and no result declared. Thunder skipper Shane Watson has been in red hot form of late (68 runs from 40 deliveries against the Strikers and 100 from 62 against the Heat) and will be hoping to lead his side to victory at home tomorrow night.

The Renegades currently sit third on the ladder with a win-loss record of 5-5. The side has struggled of late, falling to the Heat in Geelong by 101 runs and to cross-town rivals the Melbourne Stars by six wickets at the MCG.
