Sydney Thunder star Chris Green has made a brilliant start to his Caribbean Premier League campaign as his side the Guyana Amazon Warriors defeated St Lucia Zouks at Providence.
The spinning all-rounder scored 28 runs from just 15 deliveries before taking 2/28 from four overs in a player of the match performance.
Green arrived in the Caribbean last week from England where he played in the Vitality T20 Blast for the Birmingham Bears.
He joined the Bears following his role with Toronto Nationals in the Global T20 Canada, where he took 11 wickets in five games to finish as the tournament’s second leading wicket taker.
The 25-year-old has also played for the Multan Sultans and Lahore Qalandar’s in the Pakistan Super League, as well as the Northern Warriors team which lifted the inaugural T10 trophy in the UAE in 2018.
Green has now taken 51 T20 wickets at an average of 27.64, playing in tournaments across the world.
Sydney Thunder is set to open its ninth KFC Big Bash League campaign against the Brisbane Heat at the Gabba on 17 December, before playing its first game in Sydney on 2 January.
