Governor of the Thunder Nation picks all-time best XI

Governor of the Thunder Nation Mark Waugh has revealed his Sydney Thunder all-time best XI.

The former national selector picked eleven of Thunder’s finest players from a pool of 80 who have represented the club in eight seasons of the KFC Big Bash League.

Local heroes Usman Khawaja and Gurinder Sandhu feature in the star-studded Governor’s XI, along with imports Jos Buttler and Andre Russell.

1. Jos Buttler (WK)

Mark Waugh: He has created a huge impression in only a short time at Thunder. Tremendous batsman at the top of the order with both power and innovation, and a world-class keeper.

2. Usman Khawaja

MW: Second-leading run scorer in Thunder history who almost single-handedly helped Thunder win the BBL|05 Championship.

MW: Leading run scorer for Thunder and a world-class batting all-rounder who was the backbone of Thunder’s order.

MW: Mr. Cricket. World-class player who is a great finished and was the mainstay of the batting over many seasons.
