Sydney Thunder star Rene Farrell recorded best bowling figures for the NSW Breakers in a practice match on the weekend as the countdown to the fifth Rebel Women’s Big Bash League season continues.
Farrell collected 2-30 from seven overs against Queensland Fire in Brisbane.
The 32-year-old recently re-signed with Sydney Thunder for two more seasons, seeing her remain at the club until the end of WBBL|06.
Farrell is the club’s all-time leading wicket-taker with 68 wickets from 54 matches at an average of 18.39.
She finished WBBL|04 as Thunder’s second leading wicket-taker with 14 wickets despite missing four games due to injury.
Sydney Thunder is set to open the first ever standalone WBBL season with a blockbuster Sydney Smash against crosstown rivals the Sydney Sixers at North Sydney Oval on Friday 18 October.
