Sydney Thunder seamer Clint McKay will face one of his best friends on 12 December at Lavington Sports Ground when Sydney Thunder take on the Melbourne Stars in a KFC Big Bash Practice Match.
McKay has spent the off-season playing for Leicestershire where he was the leading wicket taker in the NatWest T20 Blast competition with 23-wickets at an average of 14.26.
“I know ‘Hasto’ is one of my best mates – we’ve played a lot of cricket together and a few times against each other ,” said Clint McKay.
“They’re often fiery battles because you can’t wait to get one up on them and let them know your team finished on top.
“They might be your mates off the field but as soon as you walk over that line, you’re there to win a game of cricket.
“It’s a great opportunity for guys like myself, Shane Watson, Benny Rohrer and Aiden Blizzard – who aren’t tied up with domestic cricket throughout the year – to get some match conditioning against a quality side like the Melbourne Stars.”
The ‘Border Bash’ will also feature a Rebel Women’s Big Bash League fixture between the two clubs with Alex Blackwell’s Thunder side playing their third game of the season after facing the Melbourne Renegades and the Sydney Sixers at North Sydney Oval on 9 and 10 December.
