Chris Green will be returning to the Pakistan Super League (PSL) for the second year running when he joins up with the Quetta Gladiators. He enjoyed his time in the PSL last year,
“It was a great experience last year, it was comforting to be around Paddy & Sean. Being part of it was like a childhood dream, eating breakfast and dinner alongside childhood heroes. Had to pinch myself every day!”
As a spinner, sub-continent conditions can be great for enhancing skills and techniques, not to mention all the new coaches and players that can be learnt from, and Greeny believes the PSL can aid his development.
“It’s a different challenge for me, obviously the conditions are likely to be more conducive for spin. I’m also looking forward to working under some new leadership, as well as some of the biggest names in the sport such as Kevin Pietersen. Hopefully the experience will allow me to progress to the next level not only as a player but as a person.”
Greeny will not be the only Thunder representative in the Gladiators squad, with captain Shane Watson also included.
“It will be nice to join back up with Watto, I love playing alongside him and will be great to spend some time with him as well as the other unbelievable overseas. Will be nice to have an established contact in Shane, also with Jason Roy who I’ve played with and the other couple of Aussies in the squad. But also can’t wait to make some new friends over there.”
