Australian international Lauren Cheatle has signed a multi-year contract with the Sydney Sixers after spending the first two seasons of the Rebel Women’s Big Bash League with Sydney Thunder.
Cheatle played all 16 games of WBBL01 taking 18-wickets before making her international debut against India in January 2016.
The 18-year old was forced to miss the recent ICC Women’s World Cup after undergoing shoulder surgery.
“Lauren was a highly thought of member of our squad and we are disappointed to lose her,” said Sydney Thunder General Manager Lee Germon.
“She played a big part in us winning the inaugural WBBL and has a bright future ahead of her and we wish her all the best.”
Sydney Thunder are also able to confirm that Erin Osborne, Stef Daffara and Claire Koski have not been offered contracts for WBBL03.
