Sydney Thunder stars Nicola Carey and Rachael Haynes have been named in Australia’s squad to face New Zealand in this month’s Commonwealth Bank ODI series.
The three-match series begins in Perth on 22 February, ahead of matches in Adelaide (February 24) and Melbourne (March 3).
The duo will go into the series following great performances in Saturday’s WNCL final. Carey (50 and 3/39) and Haynes (79) played key roles in the NSW Breakers 31-run win.

The GG’s XI will be captained by Thunder skipper Alex Blackwell and features young guns Rachel Trenaman and Belinda Vakarewa.

The GG’s XI match – inspired by the traditional Prime Minister’s XI game – pits some of the best young female players in Australia against a touring team annually.
