Sydney Thunder has confimed that 19-year old Belinda Vakarewa will miss the upcoming Rebel Women's Big Bash fixture against the Perth Scorchers due to an injury sustained during training.
"Belinda has been ruled out of this weekends fixture after she sustained a low grade muscle injury in her upper arm while diving at training this past week." said Sydney Thunder Physiotherapist Emily Boulton-Smith.
Belinda is currently undergoing rehabilitation and will be assessed next week to see if she is fit to be selected for the match against the Sydney Sixers on January 13.
The fast bowler was left out of the 13-player squad to travel to Perth yesterday, replaced by 15-year old Hannah Darlington.
The Thunder have arrived in Perth to play the Scorchers on Sunday and Monday.
