Leg-spinner Sangha snared 4-21 from 7.2 overs to finish as the Blues' leading wicket-taker, while Holt blasted 41 runs from just 21 balls, including consecutive sixes off James Pattinson.

22-year-old Matthew Gilkes was also impressive with the bat, top-scoring with 51.

Sangha finished the BBL|10 regular season as the competition's joint third-leading wicket-taker with 21 scalps at 16.66 and an impressive economy of 8.04 runs per over.

The 20-year-old's outstanding debut season was rewarded with selection in Australia's T20 squad earlier this year.

Holt debuted for Thunder in January 2019 and last season joined the squad as a full-time member, playing four matches before England International Sam Billings took the gloves.

The 22-year-old keeper-batter said the opportunity to work with the world’s best for a full season was invaluable.

"You had Sam Billings who has played a number of games for England now and Usman Khawaja who’s played numerous games for Australia and dominated at that level... you learn so much more off them than you do anyone else," he said.

Chris Tremain (27 not out, 1-22) and Daniel Sams (21 and 1-32) also played a role in the NSW victory.

Meanwhile, Nathan McAndrew is in career-best form following a move to South Australia.

The fast bowling all-rounder has taken 20 wickets in eight games for the Redbacks, including a five-wicket haul against Western Australia, and has posted scores of 65*, 39 and 37* with the bat.

Sydney Thunder is set to open its BBL|11 campaign against the Brisbane Heat on Monday 6 December at Manuka Oval before playing their first game in Sydney on Sunday 12 December against the Melbourne Stars.
