Northern Tigers claim back-to-back Indian Thunder Nation T20 Cup titles

More than 300 supporters gathered on Saturday to watch four teams contest the Cricket Albury-Wodonga (CAW) Indian Thunder Nation T20 Cup.

The Northern Tigers claimed their second consecutive title after beating the Telugu Titans in the final at Noreuli Park.

Now in its second year, the T20 tournament is a celebration of Indian culture and continues to help participants make a successful transition to local club cricket.

Tournament Results:

Champions – Northern Tigers

Runner Up – Telugu Titans

Third Place – Indian Thunder

Fourth Place – Kerala Strikers

Notable Performances:

Best Bowler – Raj Mahida (5 wickets from 4 overs)

At just 14 years old, Mahida was the youngest player in the tournament. He was also named the Most Improved Player.

Best Batsman – Akki Murthy (118 runs, high score 92 runs)

Player of the Final – Navi Singh

Player of the Tournament – Akki Murthy (118 runs and 3 wickets in 2 games)

Ladies Longest Hit – Varsha Reddy (55m)

Game Two:

Northern Tigers 116 (16) def. Kerala Strikers 99 (17)

Runner Up Final:

Indian Thunder 1/53 (5) def. Kerala Strikers 3/45 (5)

Match was reduced to five overs due to time constraints.

Grand Final:

Northern Tigers 8/119 (20) def. Telegu Titans 117 (20)
