Over 130 cricketers have contested the annual ACT Thunder Nation Cup at Lyneham Ovals.
Thirteen teams participated in the event, representing the Nepalese, Indian, Pakistan and Bangladesh communities. The second instalment of the ACT Thunder Nation Cup follows a successful event last year and reflects the interest and passion in the local area, according to Sydney Thunder General Manager, Lee Germon.
“Sydney Thunder is committed to engaging with all corners of the Thunder Nation and this includes Canberra and surrounding regions”, Germon said.
In a competition where results were tightly contested, PCCC Canberra, Tigers Sporting Club and PK 11 each topped their groups and have progressed to the semifinals stage. They will be joined by Sher-E-Punjab who were awarded a wild-card entry with the best Net Run Rate across the day.
PCCC Canberra, Tigers Sporting Club, PK 11 and Sher-E-Punjab will compete in a playoff in coming weeks for a place at the Thunder Nation Cup in Sydney on Sunday 21st October 2018.
Sydney Thunder is accepting registrations from individuals for trials from the following communities:
Bangladesh – 12th September – REGISTER
India – 7th October – REGISTER
Sri Lanka – 14th October – REGISTER
