Sydney Thunder lost out to hosts Adelaide Strikers as over 400 runs were scored on the resumption of the BBL season.
The Thunder posted 7/200 from their 20 overs, Cameron Bancroft top-scoring with 74, his first half-century since joining in the off-season.
However, half-centuries from Matt Short (82 from 41) and D’Arcy short (66 from 47) guided the hosts to a six-wicket victory in their first completed match of the tournament.
Earlier in the day, Thunder skipper Chris Green won the toss and elected to bat first.
His side were indebted to Bancroft’s 54-ball 74, anchoring the innings as Ollie Davies (32) and Alex Ross (46) provided valuable support.
In reply, the Strikers got off to a flier with the two openers put on 139 in 12.5 overs before Tanveer Sangha made the crucial breakthrough.
Daniel Sams and Zaman Khan each chipped in with a wicket of their own, with the latter also running out Jake Weatherald at the beginning of the last over.
However, an unbeaten 28 from just nine deliveries from Adam Hose saw the hosts over the line with two balls to spare.
