Scott was Thunder’s second most economical bowler for season one and alongside team mate Luke Doran, one of the top 10 across the BBL.
A right arm fast-medium, “Rusty” has been a member of the NSW Men’s and Australian U/19 squads and previously been the lead wicket taker in the Sydney Club cricket competition. Scott is also a proud big brother with 2 of his siblings also playing representative cricket, his brother Adam joins Thunder this season and sister Sarah plays for both NSW and Australia.
The best moment in BBL|01 for Scott was watching team mates David Warner and Chris Gayle both hit 100’s – something highly entertaining for all T20 fans. Scott’s excited to be back at Thunder, saying he can definitely hear the fans and see the Thunder Green from on the field - it really spurs him and the team on when they know the crowd is behind them.
Scott has been busy in the off season, most importantly, enjoying spending time with the newest addition to his family, Hayden, his first child. Scott loves cooking and will have a go at pretty much anything, even though it doesn’t always turn out (or never according to his brother)! A dream of Scott’s is to one day play cricket in England and with a natural talent like his, we’re sure one day he will.
Definitely my proudest cricketing moment is watching Adam, my brother, sign his BBL|02 contract with Sydney Thunder
