Returning to the Thunder this season after spending last year with the Sixers, Warner is one of the most destructive batsmen in the world. With his ability to clear the ropes, take on all types of bowlers and brilliant fielding, Warner is made for T20 cricket and is one of those players that fans love to watch.
Along with a superb eye and lightning hands, Warner has shown that he can play with caution in the longer forms of the game but it is in the T20 format that he can scare opposition bowlers because of his superb judgement of length that enables him to hit good balls for four. He is also unconventional, playing reverse hits and shots that some batsmen would never dream of. This takes confidence and nerve and Warner has this in abundance. He is happy to go after the bowling from ball one and never lets the opposition settle.
He is also a brilliant fielder who is quick across the ground with a bullet arm and a great pair of hands. This can save up to twenty runs an innings.
“Having someone of David’s ability back at the Thunder this season is great news for our fans. David is a brilliant striker of the ball and a match winner any time he walks to the wicket, which brings a special threat to opposition bowlers. He is also a superb all-round fielder which is another area of T20 cricket that is crucial. We are glad to have him back" said Sydney Thunder coach Chandika Hathurusinghe.
A great signing for the Thunder and someone who brings people to the game.
