Intro
Adam watched big brother Scott play with Thunder from the sideline in the first season of the BBL but this year he’s taken the big step from stands to the field. Adam was shocked to get the phone call from Sydney Thunder and is very excited for the opportunity. Coach Shane Duff says of Adam “much like Scott, extremely competitive and talented in all aspects of the game”
Adam, a left hand batsmen made history books during the 2010/11 season as the youngest player to make a double century in Sydney Grade Cricket - 223 not out is understandably his proudest cricketing moment so far. He has previously played alongside Thunder team mate Usman Khawaja and hopes to learn more from Usman, a person he respects highly and looks up to.
“Coytie” grew up playing cricket with his siblings – two of which became successful cricketers in their own right - Scott (Men’s NSW & Thunder Squads) and Sarah (Women’s NSW & Australian Squads). There’s some friendly rivalry between the brothers, but Adam knows better than to involve his sister.
The Tigers are Adam’s favourite NRL Team and although he played Rugby League when he was younger, felt he wasn’t very good, so focussed on cricket instead which turned out to be a good decision. Big Bang Theory is what makes Adam laugh on the TV and he hasn’t got Thunderstruck on his iPod…….yet.
