The MoneyGram Thunder Nation Cup got underway last weekend at Beaman Park, Earlwood with a record breaking 16 teams taking part in the Nepalese community day.
Lumbini CC beat Laligurans CC by 18-runs in the first semi-final of the day before West United CC bettered Danfe CC chasing down 83 in the 6th overs with Prakash Thapa taking 4 wickets.
In the final Lumbini made 62-runs but West United showed their class reaching the target in less than four overs.
Ashish Pandey, Govind Karki, Prashant Bista and Prakash Thapa were selected to trial for the MoneyGram Thunder Nation Cup All-Stars, they will be joined by Kritan Tamrakar and Hemant Acharya who both played for the side last year.
Next week will see another popular day as ten teams representing the Bangladesh community will be in action next Sunday at Crest Sporting Complex in Bass Hill.
