Hinkley ruled out with a foot injury

Sydney Thunder heads to Perth this week needing two wins from their two matches against the Scorchers, if they’re to make the Rebel Women’s Big Bash League Finals.

The 14-player squad travelling to Perth this week will need to win both of their matches against the Scorchers, and also rely on other results falling in their favour if they’re a chance of continuing their WBBL title defence.

Spinner Maisy Gibson and all-rounder Stef Daffara have both been brought into the squad while Mikayla Hinkley has been omitted after picking up an injury.

“Mikayla has got a stress fracture in her foot due to an increase in workload,” said Thunder physiotherapist Emily Boulton-Smith.

Sydney Thunder play the Perth Scorchers at Lilac Hill, Perth on 20 and 21 January, 2pm start.
