A stunning half century from Stafanie Taylor has guided the Sydney Thunder to a shaky five wicket win over the Perth Scorchers on Saturday.
The West Indian put on a show at Lilac Hill smashing 62 from 54 balls as the Thunder won their final fixture of WBBL02.
On the same wicket as the previous day the Perth Scorchers were unable to restricted by a much more disciplined Thunder bowling attack. Ellyse Villani was the first wicket to fall in the fifth over when she was caught by Nic Carey from the bowling of Rene Farrell.
Nicole Bolton was once again in the runs, making a half century which included three fours and a six before Osborne had her caught on the boundary. Alex Blackwell, continuing to captain the Thunder from behind the stumps was able to stump New Zealand international Suzie Bates for 28 off the bowling of Carey.
Heather Graham finished unbeaten on 10, while Nic Carey finished with 2-30 and Rene Farrell 1-24 and Erin Osborne 1-28.
Rachel Haynes opened the innings with Taylor and cruised to 22 off 17 balls before she was caught on the boundary off the bowling of Piepa Cleary.
Alex Blackwell slammed 26 off 20 balls before she was given out LBW from the bowling of Anya Shrubsole.
Scorchers part time bowler Elyse Villani then turned the game, taking three wickets in the 18th over.
Talyor, Nicola Carey and Naomi Stalenberg all fell to the medium pacer to leave their chase precariously positioned with two overs to come.
The experience of Harmanpreet Kaur (16 not out off 17 balls) helped the Thunder to victory with five balls and five wickets to spare.
