Leah Poulton

Thunder Assistant Coach Named As National High Performance Coach

Sydney Thunder Assistant Coach Leah Poulton has been appointed High Performance Coach – Female Program, joining Cricket Australia’s national coaching setup in Brisbane.

After playing 90 matches for Australia and over 100 domestic matches for NSW, Poulton made a smooth transition into the coaching pathway as Cricket NSW Female Pathway Manager before taking up assistant coach positions with the NSW Breakers and Sydney Thunder.

Poulton also said she was looking forward to passing on some of her learnings from her time in the USA.

“We went over there and explored a lot of high performance environments, looking at the way they did things. It’s always great to learn from different areas, there’s lots of synergies between sport and business,” she said.

“It was excellent to hear their take on things and to see if they’re doing things a little bit differently and what we can learn from them.”

Poulton will also oversee the under-15 and under-18 programs, Australia ‘A’ squad and the inaugural female National Performance Squad.
