Lanning ruled out with shoulder injury

Rachael Haynes has been selected to captain Australia in their ICC Women’s World Cup match against Pakistan, with Meg Lanning ruled out of the of the match due to a shoulder injury.

Haynes, who has yet to play a game during the competition has played 34 ODI’s and will be assisted by Thunder captain Alex Blackwell who will remain as Vice-Captain.

Pakistan’s opening match of the tournament went down to penultimate over before being well beaten by England in their second game.

Haynes is one of three Thunder players in the UK with Australia, joined by Alex Blackwell and Belinda Vakarewa, while West Indies are captained by Thunder opener Stafanie Taylor and India have included Harmanpreet Kaur in their squad.
