Gurinder Sandhu at Wet'n'Wild Sydney

Fast bowler signs new contract with Sydney Thunder

Sydney Thunder has extended the contract of Gurinder Sandhu for the upcoming KFC Big Bash League season as the club has announces a partnership with Wet’n’Wild Sydney.

Sandhu has taken 22-wickets for the club over five seasons, with only Dirk Nannes taking more wickets for the club.

“It’s such a different club from when I made my debut in BBL|02,” said Sandhu.

“It’s moved on a lot, it’s a lot more professional in every aspect. It’s a great time to be at the club.

“The Big Bash is growing every single year, we see lots of parents with their kids and it’s getting them wanting to play cricket, which is great.

“It’s always really fun and engaging for the fans which is really important. I think we do that really well at Thunder as you can see by the number of people that come to Spotless and support us, we’re getting stronger every year.”

The 24-year old has played two ODIs for Australia and has also played for the Delhi Daredevils in the Indian Premier League.

Sydney Thunder Director of Cricket Michael Hussey believes Sandhu has a lot to offer the Thunder and is looking for him to play an important role in BBL|07.

“Gurinder is a long standing member of our squad and we’re looking forward to welcoming him back for the season,” said Sydney Thunder Director of Cricket Michael Hussey.

“He’s been working hard during the off season and we’d love to see him return to the form that saw him make his international debut just a few seasons ago.”

As part of Sydney Thunder’s partnership with Wet’n’Wild Sydney, all Full Season Members will receive a free day pass to the waterpark.

Full Season Memberships are available from $85 for adults, for more information visit sydneythunder.com.au/membership or call our Membership Team on 02 8302 6006.
