Sydney Thunder spinner Chris Green will join the Lahore Qalandars for the Pakistan Super League set to start in February.
Green, a product of the Thunder Academy, which has has captained for the past two seasons will link up with Thunder Head Coach Paddy Upton and Assistant Coach Shawn Bradstreet for the Dubai based competition.
“Paddy contacted me to say I was in the team and I was over the moon,” Green said.
“It’s a bit surreal and a nice little reward for a lot of hard work that I’ve done with NSW and the Thunder.
“I’m very grateful to both teams for allowing me to go over and learn in that environment and culture among some high quality international and local players.
“I’ve heard good things from Shane Watson and I’ve been asking him about it.
“He said I will love it and it will be an amazing experience.”
The 23-year old played against the Lahore Qalandars Development Squad during pre-season after the PSL signed a strategic partnership with the Sydney Thunder that saw them travel to Sydney for a series of games in November.
Green took 7-wickets during the competition, with an economy rate of 6.79, regularly bowling during the powerplay.
