Doran's Destroyers

Wow, what a start to the BBL02 season! Unfortunately we didn’t get the result we were looking for, but as far as fantasy goes, I was pretty happy!

Having big Aaron Finch in my line-up was handy, considering he went ballistic against Shane Warne and the Melbourne Stars.

In all, my top order went pretty well, with Finch, Travis Birt and Brad Hodge combining to score 304 points for Doran’s Destroyers. Not bad!

There’s a few options I was considering this week. I wasn’t sure whether to play Finchy, as I’m going to be trying to take his wicket early at ANZ Stadium tonight, but in the end I stuck with him. If I get rolled in fantasy because he has a low score, it might be bittersweet!

As far as my teammates go, it would have been nice to get big Chris Gayle in as my opener, but I didn’t want to put ‘the mozz’ on him. I’ve kept Dirk Nannes in my team after his nice, economical four overs against the Sixers. Hopefully this week he can turn a few of those dot balls into big wickets!

As a tip, I’d suggest potentially bringing in either Azhar Mahmood, Ryan Carters or Sean Abbott as a late change that offers value. Azhar is a wonderful T20 player, while ‘Carts’ and Abbott had a pretty impressive session at the crease last week. Hoping for more of the same for the Thunder’s sake!

Outside of those tips, all I can really say is good luck to all you fantasy players. It’s a lot of fun and it feels like you’re part of the action even more when you’re coaching a fantasy team!

Talk next week folks, go Thunder and go Doran’s Destroyers!

There's still time to sign up to play Fantasy BBL and take on Doran's Destroyers. Set your team up now!
