Sydney Thunder’s Academy beat their cross town rivals the Sixers Academy last night at Rouse Hill by 15-runs in the first game of the Quadrangular Series which will also involve the Hobart Hurricanes Academy and the Lahore Qalandars’ Rising Stars.
After winning the toss Thunder captain Chris Green decided to bat under lights with Jordan Guaci and Josh Clarke opening.
Clarke made 29 which included four boundaries before bring the first wicket to all to bring in Jason Sangha (22).
After passing fifty runs Sangha dell from the bowling of Edwards brining Ben Rohrer (11) who was followed by Green (7) and Sams (12).
Thunder finished on 5-156 with Glendenning taking 2-28 and Manenti taking 2-21.
The Sixers Academy made a quick start with Crosthwaite (21) hitting five fours while opening with Aveendeno who made 51 before being trapped LW by Chris Green.
Edwards (9) was caught in no mans land and ran out before Cahlin (15) was caught off the bowling of Josh Clarke and McAndrew took the wickets of Waugh and Holt to take his tally to three.
Sixers Academy finished on 6-141 with Nathan McAndeew finishing with 3-24 while Green and Clarke also took a wicket a piece.
